Happy training for the week of 6/18.
Black Butte Triathlons: CTC had a great showing at last weekend's Black Butte Triathlons. We had an amazing total of 37 racers including 29 in the sprint road triathlon alone. Club member results have been posted to the Results page of the website. Please let me know of any errors or omissions. In addition, the club provided a small army of volunteers, including David Anderson, Michelle Anderson, Eric Ayars, Jessalyn Ayars, Melissa Brault, Jason Berry, Laura Van Dervoort, Rick Ellison, Laurie Ellison, Joanne Gilchrist, Michael Griffin, Mitch Harrell, Shawn Hughes, Wally Marshall, Forough Molina, Jennifer Moore, Katie Nyby, Dina Rabo, Josh Rowe, Lynn Smith, Tanya Torst, Justin Waller, Greg Watkins, and Isa Wilburn (hope I didn't miss anybody). Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the event. The race director has expressed his gratitude time and time again, and said he could not have pulled it off without us. Pictures from the weekend have been posted to the Gallery page of the website.
Next Club Race: After the amazing showing at Black Butte, several members have asked about the next club race. These are posted on the Races page of the website. CTC will next gather in mass at the August 4th Tri for Fun Sprint Triathlon at Rancho Seco.
Cycling Kits: For those who ordered Cycling Kits, they are now in (and look great). Many thanks to Sean Molina for taking the lead on uniforms this year and putting in many, many hours on both the tri suits and the cycling kits. Please contact Sean (training@chicotriathlonclub.com) to arrange pick-up if you ordered a kit and have not yet picked it up. And if you didn't order one but are interested, Voler has a low five piece minimum for re-orders, so shoot Sean an email if you want to get in on the next order.
Pacific Crest Sports Festival: Several CTC members are heading to Sunriver, Oregon next weekend for the Pacific Crest Sports Festival, a weekend-long event featuring long course and olympic distance triathlons, a marathon, half marathon, 5k, bike tours, and kids splash-n-dash. Registration for all events is still open and there may be housing and car pool opportunities with CTC members if anyone's interested in going. I'm gathering a roll-call of participants, so if you're racing, please send an email to president@chicotriathlonclub.com and let me know which race you're doing and if you have any additional space in your vehicle or rental housing.
New Ironman at Lake Tahoe: Just announced is a new "M-Dot" Ironman right in our own back yard. The Ironman Lake Tahoe will take place on September 22, 2013. Registration opens Monday June 18 at Noon pacific time. The race is expected to fill within the first few minutes, so if you've been thinking about stepping up to an Ironman, now's your chance as you'll never get one closer to home than this.
Pictures from Wildflower: Thanks to Jennifer, pictures from May's Wildflower triathlons have been posted to the Gallery page of the website. Starting with image 20, there's an amusing series of shots of Eric's finishing "sprint" in the long course event (sorry Eric).
