Pacific Crest 2012: CTC was well represented at the Pacific Crest Sports Festival in Sunriver, Oregon this past weekend. Five racers braved Saturday's weather in the long course event, which was shortened due to snow on the bike course and included a hail storm during the run. Sunday's eight participants had much better weather for the olympic distance triathlon. Many competitors and spectators commented on the presence of CTC and the energy we brought to the event. Pacific Crest 2013: Plans are already underway for the next edition of Pacific Crest, which takes place June 28, 29, and 30 next year. There will be long course and olympic triathlons, as well as a 5k, half marathon, marathon, kids splash-n-dash, and even some bike rides. CTC members have already booked two condos for next year's events (Otter 2 and Otter 6). Contact Shawn Hughes (sponsorship@chicotriathlonclub.com) if you're interested in a room at one of the reserved condos. And if you'd like to book your own, several other condos are available for rent on the same Otter cul-de-sac, which is conveniently located within walking distance of the Village, Expo, Finish Line, and Beer Garden. This Google Search should bring up some of the available properties for rent.

New Ironman at Lake Tahoe: The new Ironman Lake Tahoe will take place on September 22, 2013. General registration has already closed, but foundation slots are still available. CTC Members Blake Anderson, Eric Ayars, Rick Ellison, Sean Molina, Bryan Slinkard, Justin Waller, and Greg Watkins have signed up for the inaugural event.
Club Races: CTC has three remaining club for the year, which are listed on the Races page of the website. Next up is the August 4th Tri for Fun Sprint Triathlon at Rancho Seco. Following that are the Mount Shasta Tinman on September 2nd and Granite Bay on September 23rd which is the California Sprint Distance TRI Club Championship.
