Mount Shasta Tinman: CTC had a great turnout at our most recent club race, the Mount Shasta Tinman. By my count, 21 racers traveled to Lake Siskiyou to compete. We enjoyed lots of pre and post race fun, and owe a special thank you to Shawn H. for arranging the pop-up, banners, campfires, and post event bar-b-que. Results from the event have been posted to the Results page of the website. I hope to have pictures from Tinman posted soon. If you have a few good ones from the weekend, please send them to president@chicotriathlonclub.com. If you have a lot, please upload them to Dropbox (send me a note for access).
More Races: Early fall usually means a busy race schedule. In addition to Tinman, Justin Waller raced Expedition Man and has filed this race report. Josh Diaz and Kirk and Alec Chambers raced Pacific Grove, Eric and Kristi Ayars raced Ukiah, and Sean Molina represented at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas. Results for these events, including Eric's race report, have been posted to the website.
Granite Bay: Our final club race of the year is quickly approaching. The Granite Bay Triathlon takes place Sunday September 23rd at Granite Beach in Folsom Lake. The TBF race is designated the California Sprint Distance TRI Club Championship. CTC will be well represented at the race, and all members, regardless of expected times or places, are encouraged to come race and represent. We missed the championship by a single point last year, and since points are awarded for all participants, regardless of finish time, just two more racers would have resulted in $500, a Huge TRI Club Trophy, and reserved bike racks next year at all TBF Racing triathlons. Registration is still open, and you can even sign up race day for only $80. The race starts at 9:00 AM and is an easy drive, so a lot of members will be driving down race morning. Please announce any carpooling opportunities on the Yahoo group.
Granite Bay Pre-Party: Jason and Marisa Berry will be hosting a CTC Granite Bay Pre-Party on Friday September 21st. The party is being held on Friday since some folks will be spending Saturday night in Sacramento. Look for a more detailed announcement soon.
