Training:
Swim at One Mile: Shall resume in the spring.
The River Road TTs: We had a great year out at the River Road TT. We owe a big thank you to Stephan Ayers and Eric Ayers for putting these events on for us.
The Friday Rides: With the shorter days fast approaching. The Friday rides will become an informal workout until the spring. If you are interested in this ride please send me an email to sinsdady@yahoo.com. Thank you to all of you that participated in these rides.
Monthly Ride: This month’s Club Ride will be led by Greg Watkins. Please see his message for details:. Tri-skenta is Back! As most of you know, there's this little group ride that takes place on Superbowl Sunday (Feb 7 this year). Several hundred riders will leave One Mile at 8:00 AM and head west to the town of Paskenta, roll through four miles of gravel, and complete 100 miles of racing by the time they return to Chico. If that's not your thing, then feel free to join us for Tri-skenta. Similar to last year, we'll be at One Mile ready to roll at 8:00 AM. We'll meet in the north side parking lot by the bathrooms, slightly away from the masses. They will roll at 8:00 sharp and head up the Esplanade. We will roll at 8:01 and take the more traditional route via Ceres and Eaton, which is about two miles longer, keeping us comfortably away from the main pack. The plan is to do the Black Butte cutoff, which will be about 80 miles. This will be a tri-bike friendly, no drop ride with an anticipated pace of 18 to 20 mph depending on wind (last year's average was 18.2 mph including cruising in and out of town). There will be a stop at the Woodson Bridge store and likely a second one in Orland or Hamilton City. If you do bring your tri bike, please be comfortable riding it in groups, and stay off the aerobars unless you're on the front or off the back. Feel free to invite anyone to join in; just be sure they understand the premise of the ride. Rain will likely cancel.
Runs: Tony English, is leading a LSD run on Sundays from the bathrooms at 5 mile at 8:00 AM. This is an easy pace 60 min. run. There is also a LSD run on Saturdays meeting at the 5 mile bathrooms at 8:00 AM.
CTC Track Workout: During the Winter the Track Workouts will be on hold. Please look for an update from Joanne Gilchrist in the Spring.
Race Results: This is a shout out to anybody who has participated in a recent race. We would love to hear from you. Please send me any information on a race you have participated in.
