Events:
Bike Maintenance Class: Shawn Hughes will be hosting a bike maintenance course on May 21, 2016. If you would like to attend the course please send an email to sinsdady at yahoo dot com. The class will begin at 10:00 A.M. The last day to RSVP for the class will be May, 18, 2016.
Tri 101: There will be a Tri 101 on May 22, 2016 @ 10 AM at Black Butte Lake. We will also hold a bike skills clinic at this event.
Club Race: The first club race will be the Shasta Cascade weekend sports festival in Redding May 27-29. If you have registered for this event please send me an email ASAP so I can make sure you are included in the club competition. The following is a list of the Club races for the 2016 season:
1) May 27-29, 2016 Shasta Cascade weekend, shastasportsfest.com. CTC has been offered a 10% discount for events at the Shasta Cascade Weekend Sports Festival to be held May 27-29, 2016. Multisport events include Half Iron and Olympic distance triathlons and duathlons. Send an email to sinsdady at yahoo dot com to get the discount code.
2) June 25, 2016 the TBF Tri for Fun
3) Labor Day weekend, Tinman Tri in Mt. Shasta
4) September 17, 2016 Black Butte Tri Event, Black Butte Lake, registration is open.
Training:
Swim at One Mile: The swim at One Mile is scheduled to begin the first Friday after Memorial Day weekend. Please watch for further updates.
In Motion Swim: “Heather” at In Motion holds a Tri swim class on Tue. and Thurs. at 9:30 A.M. Contact In Motion for further details.
The River Road TTs: Will begin on May 5th and continue as follows: 06/02, 07/07, 08/04, and end on 9/1. Registration will start at 5:30 P.M. and the first rider rolls at 6:01 P.M. The starting line is on West 5 th St., heading west out of town, just past Miller Ave.

Runs: Tony English is leading an LSD run on Sundays from the bathrooms at Five Mile at 8:00 AM. This is an easy pace 60 min. run. There is also a LSD run on Saturdays meeting at the Five Mile bathrooms at 8:00 AM.
CTC Track Workout. Every Thursday (except for the Thursdays that we have the TTs) meet at the Chico State track at 5:45 PM.
Uniforms:
The uniforms are tentatively scheduled to arrive the second week of May.
Race Results:
This is a shout out to anybody who has participated in a recent race. We would love to hear from you. Please send me any information on a race you have participated in. This could be as simple as your name and the name of the event, your results or a race report outlining your personal experience.
Congratulations to Daren Otten who raced the HITS Berryessa Sprint Tri. He finished in 1:22:40 for 6th (6/24) in his age group 33/442 overall. Congratulations to Jacqueline Losi on her finishing the Boston Marathon. Congratulations to Joanne Gilchrist and Greg Watkins for obtaining their ALL AMERICAN status with USAT. Congratulations to Mike Dailey for racing Ocean Side. I also am assuming that he would have received USAT All American Status. Congratulations to Sue Kamrar for completing the USAT Nationals Off-road triathlon. Congratulations to Leo Bromelow on getting 3rd in his age group at the TBF Xterra. This was his very first triathlon. Congratulations to Brian Larson on getting 5th in his age group at the TBF Xterra. My apologies if I missed anyone.
