Strava Competition/Athlete of the Month:

AOTM for November is Tony English – Tony completed his first Ironman this October. He trained for this race for several years due to multiple cancellations.  Way to go Tony!

Events:

End of the Season/Holiday Party is December 10, 2022 at 5:30.  Be on the lookout for an Evite and an event on Facebook. Board elections will be held at this event.  Up for re-election:  Tony English, Greg Watkins, Amy Bromelow, Justin Waller. Nominations: Mitch Harrel. Food will be provided but bring a desert if you would like to enter the desert contest to win a Black Butte Tri entry!!

Our annual Launch Party is back at Fleet Feet this year!  Please join us at Fleet Feet Chico, 241 Main St. at 6:00 PM.  Refreshments, raffle prizes, speakers, shopping… Bring a Tri-Curious friend!

New Years Day Bike/RunTime Trial - This event is for ALL levels.  Bike up Humbolt Rd, then run up Humbolt (optional). Or just run up. Meet at 2:00 PM at the cross section of Humbolt Rd and Stilson Canyon. Turn on to Humbolt from Bruce Rd and you will see the group.

Stay tuned for a poker run in the spring.

We had a great turnout for the Annual Jersey Ride.  Please plan on joining us again next October.

Training:

Swims:

One Mile open water swims will resume in the spring.

The River Road TTs:   

Thank you, Eric Ayars, for hosting the TTs again this season.  We look forward to this program starting up again in the spring.

Rides:

There is a hill repeat group that rides in California Park on Wednesday evenings.  The ride meets at North Rim Adventure Sports at 6:00PM.  Lights and helmets are required. All abilities are welcome. 

Occasional Sunday small group rides are posted on Facebook by Jenni Merrell.

Runs: 

The Saturday Beginner LSD run is a beginner run going for up to 60 minutes. Meet at the 5-Mile Recreation Area at 9:00 AM near the bathrooms. Pay attention to the Facebook posts for updates. 

The Saturday “dog run” meets at 8:00 at Five Mile on Saturday mornings.  This is a great run for athletes that want a more challenging pace.  Well behaved dogs welcome.

TUESDAY Night Run: It is posted on Facebook weekly.  This run currently meets at 5:30 PM at Wildwood Park near the bathrooms. The run is out across the Levee and back.  All abilities welcome, run at your own pace and distance. Headlamps highly recommended.

CTC Track Workout:

Thursday track meetings will resume in the spring.

Black Butte Tri/DU:

Black Butte Triathlon is scheduled for June 10, 2023.  Registration for Black Butte Triathlon will be open on Black Friday.  Previous year’s racers will have registration priority!  This race will sell out quickly.  The deadline for race reimbursement has passed.
