CTC President’s Report October 2019
CTC-A place to have fun, learn and explore your talents.
Fall is upon us and the racing season is winding down. Now is a great time to start planning for next year’s race calendar. We will be finalizing the CTC club races soon. Don’t miss out on our Year End Party on November 23rd where you can find out what races everyone has planned for 2020 and congratulate each other on a great 2019 season. We will also be conducting CTC Board elections during the party. If you would like to nominate someone (or yourself) for a position on the Board please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Our next club event is right around the corner. Join us for the fun, no drop Jersey Ride on Saturday November 9th at 10 am. Wear your CTC gear including the 10 year anniversary jersey or Honey Run Covered Bridge jersey, for a 16 mile ride (approximately 1.5 hours) starting at The Bear and finishing up with lunch out on the patio.
We are still reveling in the success of the Black Butte Triathlon. We had a record number of participants and many generous sponsors and volunteers who made this event possible. We were also able to provide the Orland Volunteer Fire Department $1000 as our race beneficiary. Thank you to everyone who supported our race.
Did you miss out on ordering a Honey Run Covered Bridge jersey?!? Read on for more details on how to order. The last order generated over $800 in proceeds for the rebuild efforts.
The Saturday Beginner LSD is at 9:00 AM. It is a slower paced beginner run going for up to 60 minutes. Meet at the 5-Mile Recreation Area near the bathrooms.
There is also a LSD run on Saturday’s meeting at the 5 mile bathrooms at 8:00 AM.

Athlete of the month
The athlete of the month for September 2019 is Shauna Michaels. Shauna is an encouraging member, always smiling and making sure everyone is included and recognized. She completed several races this season including her first sprint tri. Be on the look out for her interview to find out more about Shauna.
For 2019, the Athlete of the Month will consist of recognition of a club member who has contributed to the club in a positive way. This can be from volunteering, participating in club workouts, encouraging others or by competing in a multisport event. The Athlete of the Month will be invited by a CTC Board Member to answer some interview questions if interested, so we can share some information about them with our club.
Please take the time to help us pick the next Athlete of the month. Just send an email to email@example.com listing your nomination.
