The Chico Triathlon Club will be holding elections for Board of Director positions at the upcoming End of Season Party on Saturday November 23rd. Per club bylaws, we elect only general board positions. Officer positions (President, Vice President, etc.), are decided by the new board once it has been seated. There are nine director positions with each person serving a two-year term. At this time, four of the directors’ two-year terms are ending.
Per our bylaws, any current member is eligible to run for the board, and only current members may vote. Nominations may come from any current member, and members may self-nominate. The election will be held via paper ballots at the End of Season Party on Saturday November 23rd. Early voting will be facilitated via email for current members that cannot attend the party and vote in person.
At this time, we are requesting nominations for the four open board positions. Nominations can be submitted via email to gkwatkins at gmail dot com. All nominees will be contacted and given the opportunity to accept or decline the nomination. Nominees should understand the following before accepting the nomination:
- The position is for two years
- Attendance at monthly board meetings is expected (occasional accommodations can be made for special circumstances)
- Commitments beyond the monthly meetings are expected of all board members. This varies greatly, but may include volunteering at events, contacting potential sponsors, mentoring new members, leading workouts, managing membership, performing outreach and advocacy, and serving on club committees such as membership, training, outreach, uniform, etc…
